Slikken , schorren or kwelders

Outside the dikes there is often a great twilight area of water and land. By high water it`s flood by the sea , low water brings back the land. We have several names for it ( see title ) The plants that grows on it has to deal with salt water. One of them is `` zeekraal `` ( pic in the middle and the right. ) We use , and love them as a vegetable ( the green tops), and even have farms/nursery it .
The taste is delicate salt and goes well with fish and potato`s

@quietpurplehaze : Yes ,Salicornia europaea is the Latin name. Samphire is an English name of one kind of the one of the several kinds
