Could`t find an English name for this beans. We call them : bruine bonen = brown beans.
Saxa van Eijnsbergen , do you know?
The look like Kidney beans but they are not the same
I love that you've also enclosed an image of the finished product here! I can see they do resemble kidney beans, so if they're different, I'm not sure what type they are. I do enjoy this view across the beautiful fields!
@overalvandaan we're all curious...can you supply an answer?
@pyrrhula@Weezilou@bruni when I make chilli con carne I just use kidney beans to replace brown beans. Pinto beans comes very close to the beans Pyrrhula has photographed, but here in the shops in Porthmaddog we only have them in dried version. Those we use more for tajines. They don't taste the same als 'bruine bonen'.
Thank you and Saxa for the info on these beans. There is a sort of small brown beans (maybe kidney beans) which we mash together with some red pepper, add a bit of basil, garlic and olive oil. And that goes very well with Mediterranean dishes.
