This pic. is taken nearly at the same spot of yesterday`s pic. Just on the other side of the dike. This is the road you can drive with a car.
The wire fence is necessary to keep the sheep`s in who graze the grass in summer. There are many places to cross over.
If you like to walk or drive the lot, it`s about 180 km / 110 miles long
@anazad511 That`s a farm dear Anazad. As we did had a big flood disaster here in 1953 there are not much old farms left . Most of them are modern new build houses with a new modern barn.
Lovely capture of the other side of the dike!!! Love seeing the houses and the farm where the people live!!! Nice shot!!! Hope your hand is healing properly!!!
@sangwann No. before this happen we have closed the Oosterschelde keering . A big dam with open spaces to let the sea water get in and out that can be closed by big doors on the entrance of this inlet See my pic.`on ( and the next one): http://365project.org/pyrrhula/365/2011-07-29
Great to see the other side. One of my favourite stories when I was at school in the 50s was of the little boy who saved everyone by putting his finger in a hole in the dike. Then when I taught one of my favourite books to read to the class was The Wheel on the School by Meindert DeJong where the 6 children in the school often went dike jumping.
