Some ( small) pieces of the land are not cultivated and still maintain as it was in the old ages. Now those parts are protected nature area`s .
(Wish I had a telephoto lens for capture the waterbirds in it.)
How wonderful to have an area for the water birds! Can you walk out into it...or are there areas with raised walkways for going out to see the birds? Wouldn't that be a wonderful opportunity! I do envy the photographers with the big lenses who get wonderful cloe up photos of the birds...but I wouldn't want to carry the weight of those cameras!
Lovely and fascinating capture of these wet lands and how neat that they are a protected nature area!!! Beautiful sky and love the sun trying to shine through the clouds!!! Great shot!!!
This is so very interesting and explains the evolution of draining to reclaim the land over the ages. I hope you post some shots of the same land in your summer.
This looks a wonderful protected area for the birds. It is always what I imagined parts of Holland to be like. I like you would love to capture more birds u even with the zoom on my camera I can never get a good shot which is very frustrating
Beautiful shot of the sun trying to peek through. I can't get over the vast area of wetlands. We're going to a festival at a wetlands park tomorrow so hope to have some good pix.
@Weezilou that`s already a problem for me
