A door to... 4

Found this door by a visit in the town Leiden a while ago. I love the Art Deco style of it and the tiled wall of the entrance.
Tiled walls are much to find in Dutch cities. A long time it has been very popular . Now a museum ( Groningen) has made an exhibition and a book of them.
Great find and a wonderful shot. The architecture of the door is really pretty.

Mooi! Weet je nog in welke straat je dit hebt gevonden? We gaan waarschijnlijk binnenkort naar onze dochter
in Leiden. Zou leuk zijn om het 'in het echt' te zien.

I like this Art Deco style- it's very pretty. I find it very interesting too because my husband Jeff's side of his family through his mother are Heyers (Hyer from Netherlands) and Jeff is a tile craftsman by trade. Who knows how far back the connection goes!

Very colorful and interesting door. I wonder what the connection was between robes and confections back when it was being used as an entrance to a store.
