Farmhouse and barn : Groote muiterij A.D. 1760 by pyrrhula

Farmhouse and barn : Groote muiterij A.D. 1760

Farmhouse and barn : Groote muiterij ( Big/great mutiny) A.D. 1760.
A sad story go with this . The farm , an authorized monument, need a big renovation . Sadly there is no money for it. The farmer , and old batchelor, have n`t and the the autorities ( monumentenzorg) even not.The roof of the barn contains asbestos and has to remove instandly. Doing this is also the end of the barn by it bad condition. Hopefully there is a solution.
I hate to this this happen but it does too frequently. This situation is somewhat different than what has too often happened here........tear down the old and build something new. Your photos convey your story well. fav

You show us the most beautiful rural scenes, Pyrrhula. This collage is one such beauty. A sad story, indeed. Pity they cannot find the funds to restore it.

Zo interessant om te zien, ook in verval. Hope dat iemand er geld in wil steken om het te behouden.

It is sad to see it like this, but maintaining these lovely old buildings would be very expensive. I hope they can find a solution :)

That's too bad. It is a shame they cant restore that part of history.

Your collage tells the story well. would be nice if someone can help restore it. if not, history is lost. here the old farmhouses get boarded up awaiting a buyer for purchase the farm land. unfortunately it will be contractors trying to zone the land for subdivisions. more and more farm disappear this way.

Nice collage of the delapidated buildings. It is a shame that people always want to build new, rather than fix up old. But sadly, that sometimes costs twice as much to do.
