Pruning the willows by pyrrhula

Pruning the willows

Has to be done at least every three years to keep them in a good shape.
On the right a farmhouse and barn.
On the left an old (slapersdijk) dike.
Pruning always seems so drastic and the trees look like they'll never spring back. Yet, when they do, they are even stronger and prettier. You'll have to do an "after" picture when they've grown back in. Nicely captured.

Lovely shot. Great composition. I usually am not severe enough in my pruning. However, I really pruned back a bush this winter. I will see what it looks like later this spring.

Beautiful capture and rural scenery. Trees along the promenade here are very heavily pruned like these and, I think, they do that every year. Each year I think they have killed them but then the trees would grow even more beautiful.

OK, now I see that they must be pruned every 3 years or so. Do I remember right that you used to work in a greenhouse - with plants all of your life?
