I love the pop of red of the gladioli flower here and there in the field . Are the flowering stems cut off so that the bulb grows bigger ?

I, too, like the little pops of red throughout the image. It's interesting to learn how these are "farmed". There's a tremendous amount of work goes on in these fields.
