To day flower verges beside the farm land is more populair. The main reason is it`s subsidize by the goverment but also : as posions chemicals get more and more forbidden farmers try the get the help of natural enemy insects and to get them: plant there habitat flowers.

@speedwell What is a sleeping dike? The landscape has chance many times in history. We did build dikes to protect te land from floods and storms. Last time this happen was in 1953 . We also reclaimd the land from the see. So in time we have build many dikes. By any new dike we build we still keep the old one for exstra savety.. Those old dike we call ``slapende dijken`` I`ve translatedit to ``sleeping dikes``
