Looking back.

The three pillars without which our country would have looked very different.
1 Water. More than half of our country used to be water, or was flooded at high tide.
2. Pollard Willows. Without their branches, no dikes would have been built in the past.
3. Windmills power that used to dry the land

Happy New Year, Dear Ferry! I planted potato sprouts today for the first time ever and was thinking of you and the photo's of the potato fields in Holland! Wish me good luck! While they're so inexpensive to buy, I think it will be fun if I can grow my own!
