becoming unmanageable

The amaryllis is in full flow and really hard to photograph so I stuck it in front of the mirror.
The table is laid as you can see. We have friends arriving for Sunday lunch: the apple and blueberry crumble is made, as is the home made sage and onion stuffing; chicken is in the oven, potatoes peeled ready to parboil and roast.
As usual, Jinks knows we have visitors coming. He's making little noises of anticipation, running backwards and forwards to the front door. I've not been able to work out how he always knows and can only conclude that he can, in fact, read my mind.
I found my duck briefly and beadily looking out from the PP page, so thank you everyone!
Hazel, Your visitors are extremely fortunate, you sound as though you are a wiz bang cook "that's a good thing" you are also organised.
I like this picture it's very interesting, nice selfie.
Enjoy your lunch & company, I know Jinks will.

Are you sure this isn't a scene from "The Day of the Triffids!"

Great shot.

I love the way you set this up -- the amaryllis is perfect. Dogs and cats are very intuitive and sense our moods. Jinks has figured out certain behavior means company is coming, so yes, I guess he can read your mind.

Ps Bertie always knows when guests are expected - I think they note even the tiniest change in your routine and can sense your anticipation too!

Good use of the mirror, I still haven't done anything with my amaryllis yet, so bad of me

@juliedduncan

It looks as if one stem will have 6 flowers and the other 4!!

Haha maybe it's the smell of roast chicken stuffing and all the trimmings that makes him realise someone's coming!

@quietpurplehaze That is craziness! I think I'm going to have two on mine. :(

Well captured, when it blooms it's many blooms you will have twice the beauty with the mirror. I love mirrors just fro that reason.
