magic

This clivia, given to me about 2 years ago, suddenly bloomed in July and is now, amazingly, in flower again.

A big thank you to everyone who commented on the photo of my dad (with little Brinnie in the background!) and my accompanying text, which I posted yesterday.

I hadn't anticipated much response and it was really a pleasant surprise to find such interest.
So pretty Hazel

Wintering

During the break you put the plant in a cool place down at 8-10 ° C.

Forcing flowering

by October to take a rest, which gives very little water, Clivia is encouraged to flourish. Give as much that the blade does not dry out and the earth is still very slightly damp. Also no longer administer fertilizers. In the first months of the year will become a flower stem. Give only back more water as the flower stem is at least 15 cm long.
During flowering and then generously pour but make sure no water remains at the bottom of the pot: the fleshy roots rot quickly and your plant dies.
Immediately after flowering can be repotted it. This must be done very carefully, because the fleshy roots are easily damaged. Young plants are transplanted each year, older plants once every 3 years
