The Nut Thief  by quietpurplehaze

The Nut Thief

I saw him from the kitchen window as I was making Thai fish cakes for the evening meal.

It provided a welcome interlude to go out and capture a few shots - and nothing was spoilt.
Super shots! What kind of fish do you use for the fish cakes, and will you make a nice photoshot of them?

Fishcakes - if anyone is tempted to try them!

boil 2 medium size potatoes, mash with a little butter, s&p
fry two salmon fillets in a little oil, remove skin and flake

put potatoes and salmon (including oil) in a bowl

peel and chop
2 garlic cloves
1" piece root ginger
1 red chile

add these 3 to fish & potato mixture, mix well, leave to cool

make into balls, then fishcakes, dust with flour, fry in olive oil until brown on both sides (be careful they don't break up)

we eat ours with sweet chilli dipping sauce, plus either new potatoes & veg or salad and crusty bread

@quietpurplehaze LOL!!! Oh......you do it with your bare hands and stick those hands into your eyes.....in the meantime your partner has time to call an ambulance to take you to hospital.......

@jacqbb

Wonderful, glad you are forewarned - I was trying to be concise writing the recipe!!!! (Our son once ate a whole chile/chilli in a restaurant. The waitress offered to bring him an extra drink, tea I think was the thing but he toughed it out!)
