Thank you all again for your supportive comments for Ray and myself.
Unfortunately he felt ill again very early yesterday, but fortunately the response to our call to 111 was the arrival of an ambulance with 3 paramedics (one a trainee paramedic) who took him to hospital.
After various tests, he was allowed to come home and our neighbour drove me to fetch him. (I was just a bit frazzled by all of this: bipolar does not sit well with shock/stress!)
So now it's a quiet time we sincerely hope.
Clare sent a surprise parcel of lovely goodies and Neil finds himself the go-between for downstairs-upstairs.
Hope Ray is feeling a lot better now and you are recovering too I know how stressful it can all be having been through it all many times. The paramedics told me never to hesitate to ring for an ambulance with heart and breathing problems. Enjoy your lovely parcel
I hope all is okay now for you and Ray. I know how stressful this is: some months ago I had to call our emergency number because hubby didn't feel well. Heart and breathing problems. After four days in hospital he was allowed to go home.
Time for you to relax a bit and enjoy your books.
Jackie, such a kind offer, thank you, which I will bear in mind. We have Neil here to help so hopefully we will be OK. He's just cooking the evening meal.
All this is such a worry for you Hazel......I think having a pacemaker fitted is a bit of a trial & error time. Do hope from now on things go well & Ray & you get confidence that things will go well....he must be bpnervous if every twinge at the moment. A lovely pile of books & chocolate....good for daughters! It’s hard to pick up that phone & bring out an ambulance but I love the TV programme about Ambulances & always am reassured when they say better to be safe than sorry!
Hope you are both settling down now and things are improving. It is always such a worry when our nearest and dearest are not well. I am sure he is in good hands and you must also look after yourself too. That is a lovely and thoughtful parcel. I am fingers and toes crossed for improving times for both of you.
Oh my, Hazel! How frightening to happen once...but twice?!? I hope this is the last time and that everything is calm and well. Take good care...both of you.

I shall bear that piece of advice in mind as it's always difficult to know the moment to call or not to call emergency services.
Mandy thank you but please uncross your fingers and toes when necessary!
