trees in memory

My collage shows the hawthorn and spindle trees which Ray has planted in memory of Clare. We used the space left in our front garden when a diseased conifer was felled.

The trees reference Clare's love of pink and her beloved silversmithing enterprise which she called Rose Madder and which gave her so much joy in her life.

We have been both astonished and pleased that the hawthorn tree produced its deep pink flowers in May and the spindle tree is now, in September, covered with bright spindleberries, both in their first year in our garden.
What a beautiful tribute that shall grow over the years
