The box measures 16 x 12 x 11inches. Each face has a slightly different image and they were all traced from a willow pattern tea towel which the tutor brought to the class from her own kitchen.
Fabulous box! Interesting! :)

@beryl

Beryl, thank you and I meant to reply to your comment about the therapy of this sort of work - I found it really great! I expect painting is similar for you?

I can only imagine the amount of work that must have gone into this. It's beautiful. Family heirloom stuff.

Hazel this is fabulous and shame on you relegating it to the loft;0)
Wonderful

@claireuk

Not quite in the loft, Claire, just the spare bedroom! Some of the filling which is behind the copper is disintegrating after about 35 years and is a bit untidy - mustn't move the box too much!

@mcmary

It's really a question of following processes and having patience to do this sort of work and it was very therapeutic.

Bed this will become the most wanted heirloom in you family.
It looks marvelous and beautiful .

Hazel I'm so impressed with your skills! And constantly reminded of you at the moment. It is Australian Rules football grand final this weekend, and one of the competing teams is the Fremantle Dockers, team colours purple & white. Its fans are descending on Melbourne, they are known as the "purple haze" !

so nice to see the whole box

That's amazing Hazel, you are so talented. When you said a box I imagined a little jewellery type size.

@princessm

I'm flattered that the Freemantle Dockers' team colours remind you of me!
I popped into the supermarket today and the cashier at the checkout was enthusing about my purple dress and telling me about her favourite outfit, purple too! Will there be photos from the football?
September 27th, 2013
@quietpurplehaze I didn't go to the game (my team was effectively rubbed out months ago for bringing the game into disrepute!)
