This is an old building that was part of the farm colony at the state hospital where I worked for 37 years. It was never running while I worked there, but when it was patients lived in those buildings and worked in the fields to grow food and in the barns, raising cows and pigs and milking. Perhaps not such a bad life for many who were accustomed to the rural, agricultural life.
My mother worked at our state hospital for over 30 years and I remember when they used to do this type of thing. It made the patients feel good about themselves to work in the gardens or wood-shop - I don't understand why they quit those programs
@brillomick Some might say so. There's even a book about the hospital being haunted written by a woman who used to work 3rd shift there. thank you for the fav @cejaanderson Thank you Jane, for the nice comments and the fav @barbtatum they wanted to make sure that the patients weren't being taken advantage of. Plus, $$$ If something seems crazy, you can bet it has something to do with money. In order not to take advantage of the patients they would have had to pay them. @confectioner Thank you Marilyn
