The Enforcer

We drove up to visit an alpaca farm today, which unfortunately was closed. But in at least 3 of the fields there was one of these dogs. After a little research I think it may be a Great Pyrenees often used to guard livestock from coyotes, which unfortunately they have moved into our area. It seemed friendly enough, no barking and wagging its tail.
That's a lot of fur to deal with on rainy muddy days...but if your dealing with alpacas, what's a couple long haired dogs, right?

Very nice composition with the red sign! I liked learning about this dog and how it intimidates coyotes. Coyotes are really not very big, and all the dog's fur makes it look even bigger--like a bear.
