Wishmaker Socks.365

52 Week Challenge - week 14
Vision: Diptych or Triptych
Connect 2 or 3 images together, creating one image, to provoke a thought or tell a story.

Back in January, I posted the photo in the bottom left and indicated I planned to make a pair of socks based on the pattern in the top left. (Wishmaker Mitts by Erica Heusser). I finished them after much trial and error first in graphing the pattern then achieving the stranded knitting. They're done.
This is really nicely done Kathy. Well done for the photo and the handiwork!

Wow - Kathy - that is amazing. I have never knitted socks. I love the socks and hand warmers. Fabulous triptych.

They are beautiful! I know this was complicated - well done! I like how you
have taken your display photos too. Nice touch with the dandelions!

You are so talented! They look very cozy- and even the gloves look pretty handy in keeping your hands warm but fingers out to take pictures with. Maybe you should make a matching pair. Great collage too!

@jamibann Thank you Issi. I admit, I'm pretty proud of them.
@overalvandaan Thank you so much Saxa.
@fbailey Thank you Felicity. A few choice words were uttered during the making of these socks.
@ziggy77 Thank you so much Jo.
@tosee Thank you Tom.
@tunia Thank you Tunia. I admit I was wondering if I could incorporate it somehow. My husband cut the grass and there were only a few de-fluffed stalks left.
@wendyfrost Thank you Wendy. I appreciate your comments.
@leananiemand Thanks Leana. I guess you don't wear to many wool socks these days. :)
@mandygravil Thank you Mandy. I often wear hand warmers when photographing outside in the cold weather. Probably won't make these handwarmers, though.
@365karly1 Thank you Karly for viewing and commenting.
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. I do have some handwarmers to use when shooting in cold weather. I have have a pair that the top of the mitten unbuttons and folds back so you have the fingers to make all the adjustments. A little warmer than fingerless mitts.
@bkbinthecityThank you So much BKB
@thewatersphotos Thank you Gary.

they look amazing!

love the pattern. I have an uncle who would only ever wear hand knitted socks that his wife made. When she died, my mother started knitting them for him. Never such beautiful patterns as this though.

Beautiful work Kathy... both the photo and the knitting.

@julie Thank you Julie
@helenhall I love to wear hand knit socks. It is not routine for me to try a pattern like this. I just saw the mitts pattern and said I wanted that pattern in socks. No one's going to see them but me.
@vignouse Thank you so much Richard.

I remember your original shot of the yarn and pattern photo. To see these complete is no mean feat. Congratulations, I take my hat off to you. I too know the moments when I’ve spotted an error...always several rows ago, and dither about leaving it, yet very rarely do.

Next project decided?

@s4sayer Thank you Margo. Given you're a fellow knitter, I especially value your praise. I'm working on a couple felted projects. I took a felting class on 3 of the past 4 Saturdays. Have a little zippered purse to sew together (too thick for the sewing machine and I'm not fond of hand sewing) and am almost finished a bigger bag that then will need to be felted. One other project on the needles and some in the wings, ready to go. How about you?

@randystreat
Am currently doing a baby blanket...child due Saturday. Recent events have kiboshed progress, am hoping to do some intensive knitting in the next few days. Will post shot.
April 12th, 2018
@s4sayer Margo, the baby isn't going to grow out of the blanket anytime soon and the parents will appreciate your thoughtfulness whenever it is finished. Looking forward to seeing it.
