My neighbor is a big gardener. I guess he was cleaning up his garden and burning the remains last evening. You can just barely see his white head in the smoke.
@wakelys I wanted to get closer for a photograph, but didn't really want to lose the surroundings. Plus I don't think he saw me. Thank you. @grammyn Thank you Katy. I tried several different crops before settling on this one. @kwind The smoke was over his house and I noticed it as I arrived home. Being nosy, I had to see where it was coming from. The fire was probably out by bedtime, but the rain started about the same time, so the smoke didn't linger long. Nothing like what you're experiencing thank goodness. @pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. @olivetreeann I think the buildings and fences in the smoke make it seem that way Ann. Thank you. @pusspup Not that I know of, but then I don't see the neighbors much. I'll keep that thought in my head as I read the papers. Then I will have some photographic tips to pass along. Fun and thank you Wylie. @thewatersphotos Thank you Gary. Yeah it's pretty intense for him to be in the midst of it. @craftymeg Thank you Margaret.
@kjarn Well, we've had a particularly wet few weeks. Actually this was taken the evening that our weather was effected by the hurricane. Rained steady for at least 24 hours straight.
Something very old fashioned about this scene. Makes me remember the brick trash burner in our back yard when I was a kid. Regulations changed and eventually we got rid of it.
@kjarn I live in the county limits rather than the city limits and fires like this are allowed unless we're going through a drought. @mcsiegle I think the barn/shed buildings add to the vintage look, too.
