Get Pushed Challenge 460
My get pushed partner said " I know that you have a lot of birds that come to your birdfeeder in your yard. So if you’re able to get a good bird shot, that's your challenge."
Here are two House Finches. The all brown one is possibly a female or a juvenile, but think the former since I didn't notice a lot of fluttering of wings going on. The challenge for me is to get a clear, in focus shot of the birds. I'm shooting at a distance and think it is in focus. Many are not as sharp as I would like them to be when I finally upload and view them on my computer.
@mcsiegle Mary thank you for the challenge. I enjoyed snapping these visiting birds. They sure do move about a lot. I was trying to avoid them feeding at the feeders, so saw these two sitting by waiting for their turn. The finches flock into my feeders and at times fight each other (and any other birds). But others kind of hang out and wait until those bullies leave.
In answer to your question, the turbine I would imagine will be for their own use, they have another which is just at the back of where I used to live. They’re only small and nowhere near the size of the commercial ones. I wouldnt think they would make enough power for the grid.
@grammyn Thank you Katy. I used my Canon for this and the only way to see the photo in camera is in the led screen. I can't see the details on the screen like I can when they show up through the viewfinder. I'm also having some problems with blurriness in my eyes - dry eyes, allergies, who knows. But it makes it hard. Even on the computer monitor.
That's true- it's very hard to get birds in focus. One of my birding friends from photo club recommends auto focus on a fixed stationary object (in this case the hook) and burst mode when the birds land. That way you get a series of photos to choose from. I haven't tried it yet but I probably should have today when the Pileated Woodpecker was pounding away at our wood pile!
@olivetreeann I have used continuous shooting before (that's what it's called on the Canon). I should have done it this day too. You're right. You do have more photos to choose from. @dogwoman Thank you.
