This is wonderful, Kathy! And I want to thank you for always commenting on my photos even though I have fallen by the wayside and never comment anymore!
We are paired for this week's get pushed challenge. So - your challenge for this week comes from the Trevor Carpenter weekly photo challenge. It is called:
This Little Light of Mine - Full Manual https://photochallenge.tempusaura.com/2021/12/2021-week-49-this-little-light-of-mine-manual-mode/
Your challenge this week is to go out (or stay in) and photograph any subject as long as your image includes a light source and of course using manual mode to set your camera’s exposure settings. The light source requirement can be anything such as street lights, holiday lights, a lamp, the sun… really anything (all example images in this challenge contain a light source for inspiration). Be sure the light source is visible in your image and choose your camera settings to creatively expose for your subject (which may or may not be the light source itself). For example, you can set your camera’s aperture to create star bursts or bokeh for a dreamy look. Or you could choose to set your shutter speed for high or low key lighting or motion of light to create light painting (see examples below by Eric Minbiole). Again, the light itself can be the subject or it can be something that enhances your subject or overall image, be creative!!
@craftymeg Thanks Margaret. It's actually a morning twilight. The sky was pretty pink not long after this shot was taken. @joemuli Thank you Joey. @wakelys Yup, my bathroom window. I even have a special tag for it because I keep seeing things out that window at different times of day. Thanks Sue. @grammyn Thanks Katy. I'm afraid you'll see it again. Hard not to take a photo when there's something nice out there. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. @digitalrn Thanks Rick. @kjarn Thanks doubly Kathy. @summerfield I didn't notice that bird until I posted the photo here. There are some crows around that like to stop a spell in the top of the tall trees. I often hear them cawing even if I can't see them. @jamibann Thank you Issi. I think the pink is what caught my eye. @farmreporter Thank you Wendy and you're welcome. I admit I don't comment on all of them. I accept your challenge. Glad I finished my Christmas knitting. I'll have a bit more time to play around.
