I was looking at some Christmas card fronts that I saved with the idea of repurposing them. I noticed there was a signature on this one and when I got to looking for it on the internet, I found that the artist, Kathy Glasnap, had a shop and studio in Door County WI and had died in 2015. This one may be framed and kept by me.
i do that, too! i save the fronts of cards if they appeal so much to me and repurpose them. i was just looking at her paintings during lunch as i was looking for painting ideas. nice depiction in black and white. aces!
I looked her up, too, out of curiosity, since I'm originally from Michigan. Kathy lived in Door County, Wisconsin (WI), rather than Michigan (MI). We have a couple of art works by local artists who died far too young (cancer in both cases). Nice to remember Kathy this way!
Let you know I’m not the only one that does that. I will confess to having more cards than I have ideas for! I love this entry for the artist challenge. Itis perfect
@summerfield What a coincidence. My friend makes cards and I had cut them off for her, but somehow never gave her this one.Thank you Vikki. @joemuli Thank you Joe. @grammyn Thanks so much Katy. I have all this year's cards to go through yet.
I thought it was an @summerfield painting you're holding. This is a fabulous self portrait of your hands, must have been quite a composition challenge. FAV
I used to be an avid keeper of postcards and the like. I'd like to think that l'm much more selective than hitherto…yet somehow, however much l vow that l won't keep cards, photos etc…l can't bring myself to part with them.
