Get Pushed Challenge #566
My get pushed partner this week challenged me to submit a photo for the current artist's challenge she is hosting. I fretted for a few days and kept going back to the links she had provided in the discussion. I decided this new sculpture in our town would have to be my subject. The hard part was toning down the photo. Those swirls and lines out to the top right didn't catch the light well and almost disappeared. There are two spheres in the center of the the top that have almost disappeared. Meant to be seen in color I guess.
@kali66 Thank you for this interesting challenge. I realized that I don't have enough of similar shaped objects to have created a subject myself so I hope this sculpture will do.
Sort of makes me think of the way the wind blows- but who knows with modern sculpture- only the artist really! I like it though and I think you did your best. I like it in black and white.
@craftymeg Thanks Meg. The more I see this sculpture the more it's growing on me. @tunia It has nice curves, doesn't it. @wakelys Thank you Sue. I think it should have been titled something like compassion which is what womb means in Hebrew. The sculpture reminds me of feminine organs. @haskar I appreciate you saying that Hannah. @Dawn Thank you Dawn. @joemuli Thank you. @onewing Thanks for saying so Babs. @pyrrhula I am trying to be more open minded about art (all art). I tend to have one or two channels and stick to them. @grammyn Thank you Katy. It's really nicer to see it in b&w. The shapes of the lovely curved lines show up better. @fbailey I had ideas but not resources. Thanks Felicity. @corinnec You're right Corinne and I see that as I look at this photo more. Thank you. @olivetreeann Wind is a good description. As mentioned above to someone else, it reminds me of female organs. Thanks Ann. @jamibann Thank you Issi. @pusspup Thanks Wylie. @rensala Thank you Renee. I appreciate your comments. @kjarn It's unique and modern. Unusual for our town thus far, but apparently we're modernizing. Thank you Kathy. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian.
