@corinnec I have the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. I pruned the plant back after taking this photo so will use the pruned leaves with them. @summerfield Thanks Vikki. The pizza sounds good. I didn't realize until recently how much I enjoy pesto. But the leaves by themselves mixed with salad greens for fresh tomatoes and mozzarella are options for this right now. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. I have learned that I like it too. Now I need to use the leaves on this plant. @olivetreeann Thanks Ann. I believe I will. But wait. That means I have to cook. @Dawn Thanks Dawn. @grammyn Thank you Katy. Sitting out on the patio overlooking the plant and had my camera in hand. Nice to get an instant photo that turns out pretty good once in a while. @joemuli Thanks Joey. @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. May have to get the ingredients to make pesto. I wonder if it freezes. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian. @jamibann Thank you Issi. Enjoy it. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you Jackie. I should probably have wiped them down to get them a little shinier. @pusspup it doesn't live here outside in the cold weather. I just bought this plant and it's in a pot. If it doesn't die before the all, I'll bring it inside. @wakelys Thanks Sue. It's not home from the nursery too long. I hope I can keep it growing. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. @craftymeg It is fresh and fairly new to me. Hope I can keep it growing. @thewatersphotos Thanks to you, Gary, and to Lowe's Hardware. @fbailey It makes a nice inside herb, although I've killed several off in the past. This is outside right now, although still in a pot. @mcsiegle Thank you Mary. It was a good looking plant when I bought it a couple weeks ago and it's doing ok right now. It's outside and I've been watering it. But I have a past history of killing off basil. Keeping my fingers crossed.
@randystreat LOL- I buy the Naan brand flatbread, get shredded mozzarella and parm., a jar of marinara (preferably the kind with no corn syrup of excess sugar added, pre-sliced mushrooms (preferably fresh, but canned will do in a pinch) and make pizza that way- it's so easy. When I have fresh basil, I'll just tear some up and put it on top with other Italian seasonings, and if Jeff wants peppers, I chop some up but there's very little labor involved here- and yet it tastes like it came from the pizza shop (450 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the cheese melts).
