I always thought the croissant was a French invention, however according to Wiki it’s an Austrian viennoiserie pastry inspired by the shape of the Austrian kipferl but using the French yeast-leavened laminated dough. They are named of course are for their historical crescent shape.
I heard that the crescent shape is used to help facilitate being shoved into my mouth! This image is amazing, and I love it! Great lighting, focus, detail ....all noteworthy!
Lovely colours and lighting, so appealing.
