The laundry room is the only remaining room that we haven't "touched" in our 18 years in this house. This corner was the worry: This is where Jack's litter box was located for 16 years. The litter box is gone — https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2015-06-16 — and the other recent projects have been completed: re-paint the family room; re-carpet the family room/stairs/master bedroom; second AC system installed; attic re-re-insulated. It's the laundry room's "turn" now.
The concern: Would I have to replace a section of drywall? (Jack's "aim" wasn't always true.)
I watched Clare's brother make repairs to drywall earlier this month — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2017-02-11 — so I knew what would be involved, but I've never done it before, so how deft might I be on my first attempt. (Consolation: It's the laundry room.) This morning when I woke up, I decided to rip off the Band-Aid and see if the drywall was destroyed behind the base board molding. Good news! The drywall is okay!
The "fun," of course, will be working in an 80"×68" room with a washer and dryer (which occupy more than 25% of the floor space)…

I had the same corner for our cat that crossed the Rainbow Bridge a couple of weeks ago, sadly. Refused to eat for nearly 3 weeks. It was part of the laundry too. Yours seems a big laundry!
Great that you don't have any repairs to do. After we lost our dog and cat we didn't want anymore animals but our daughter has left us with their dog and cat for their four year stay in Canada. I just hope they survive until they return.
