On some previous state capitol visits, I tried to center the dome in the image. Earlier this summer in Montana, I couldn’t get directly under the center of the dome and I rather liked how it turned out, so this is sort of “Circles and arcs II.”
Fun fact: “[T]he Oklahoma State Capitol is the only capitol in the world surrounded by working oil wells. One is even named Petunia #1, because it was drilled in the middle of a flower bed.” — Exploring Oklahoma History
Today we drove from Conway (AR) to Oklahoma City,
» Toured the Oklahoma State Capitol
» Visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial
» Walked the Skydance Bridge
» Drove on to Clinton, OK, for dinner and overnighting.
Dinner in Clinton was a scramble. Long-Bell Brewing claims to be the only brewery between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, but they don’t serve food and the cafe next door closes at the same time the brewery opens. So we had to hustle up take-out pizza from a chain :-P and take it back to the taproom.
I have several more photos from today that I would like to post, but they may have to be fillers…
Fun fact: At our hotel tonight we had what I called the “Pi Room” (314). :)
