Was out mowing the yard, and my wife come running out to let me know that it had landed on the fence and had something in it's claws. By time I got the camera and got ready, the hawk had jumped down to the ground after something. Not sure what that was. But was able to get a few good shots of him right there under the window.
If you care to read on, was playing golf on Tuesday and out of the blue, one of these hawks attacked one of the mid size egret looking birds in air, and took it down to the ground. As soon as it hit the ground, a flock of blackbirds/crows immediately swarmed on the hawk and chased it off. The small white egret looking bird, sort of shook itself off and flew away. Have never seen anything like that, but it was amazing.
What an experience that must have been! Almost a good thing not to have the camera so you could really watch what happened. Love the detail in your hawk shot here. That's a nice close up shot. Fav
