Was driving through the neighborhood this afternoon, and noticed this egret stalking something in the flowerbed. Probably a lizard, but when I stopped and got out, it started to walk away, so never saw what it was really after. It was sure doing some serious neck stretching though.
They do have the most amazing necks! Great to see him just wandering around the neighbourhood like that. As i've mentioned before, they are still rare in the UK and I'm used to seeing them lurking in the reedbeds shy and cautious
