Gulf Fritillary Butterfly!

Not sure what is on the ground for these guys to like, but they sure seem to like something down there. So many flowers still around and they go to the ground.

I often see them on the ground too. It's a nice textured surface for them to pose on.

Maybe the ground is warmer fir them and they just take time out to warm up a bit. It is a beautiful butterfly anyway!
