Well, that's sort of what it looked like. Mr Rocky looked like he was growling or snarling at me each time he leaned over and took a bite of food. Wasn't that close, but sure seemed like he wasn't happy. :-)
In my experience, this is what every raccoon looks like when they're eating. They definitely chew with their mouths open! Silly little characters. (I had a wildlife preserve permit for a number of years and rehab'd baby raccoons back into the wild. What comical creatures they are!)
