While watching the egrets, had this hawk fly up in the tree just overhead. Made a few shots, but the light was really bad so had to move on the opposite side of him to get better light. And he stayed put. And while all of this was going on, heard the squawks of a different kind of bird, which I was pretty sure it was an eagle. After searching for a while, I finally found the nest and the birds that the noise was coming from, and wal-lah, it was a pair of nesting Bald Eagles. The only problem, they are way back in the trees and the land is posted, so probably won't be able to really get back in there where they are. :-( But I will keep looking for that special opening in the trees, and maybe will be able to get a few shots of them at some point.
Good clear shot of the hawk - only ones I've seen have been while driving - can't drive and shoot unfortunately and can't just stop on the highways. Ugh
@milaniet@pamknowler Thanks Milanie and Pam. Yeah, know what you mean Milanie. I see a lot of them as I'm driving around, but fortunately, I do catch them while out walking.
