Went on my usual trek this afternoon and did have the camera and stand in hand. Didn't see it on the way up and had turned around and was headed back. Started hearing a bunch of Blue Jay's going crazy, so thought they might be after the owls. Sure enough, right after that, the owls started to hoot. So headed back up the trail and just as I had gone just a short way, looked up and here comes this owl flying in to one of it's usual trees. So got set up and started shooting. Wow!!!
