Writhing Mass!
I'm guessing it's going to be a good year for peacock butterflies judging by this writhing mass of caterpillars on the stinging nettles!

a few weeks ago I moved masses of Tortoiseshell caterbugs out of reach of the cutter man on the local field. Had a welcome visitor today and wondered if it was one of those rescued larvae.
