@casablanca Hi Casablanca - I guess it has a scientific name but everybody here calls it Whiskey Grass. Apparently, it was introduced into Oz as packing in the boxes containing whisky bottles. It produces thousand of seeds which have long hairs and blow for big distances. A real pest - but boy, a full paddock of them with the sun behind the seed heads makes a great photo! :)
@ulla@bintal@hrb73@suzanne234 Thanks Ulrika, Sylvia, Hydee and Suzanne - you all mentioned the lighting so I thought I would explain in one go. These are actually really pretty so I have a big bunch of them in a vase on the back verandah (most locals think I'm weird!). And they look much better with the yellow metal wall as a background - so it's a bit of a cheat to have this colour and lighting! Oh well ...... Thanks to all of you for your lovely remarks! Cheers Rob
