These two photos were taken in the same mall. But then it became hard to know what to do with them - they had assorted ugly bits intruding. So in No 1 the solution trialled was to crop out the unwanted bits - allowing the image to fill the whole frame. The result seemed to be almost just an abstract without much perspective. So No 2 was a trial to see if an internal frame would allow the semi-removal of the unwanted bits and still have a sense of perspective. P.S. not very good images - forget to adjust the ISO !!! Duh!!
They both make for good abstracts, but I think in this situation, the color brings some life to the scene. The repeating curves work well. For me, the question would be, what did I want the shot to convey? That would direct me to where I would crop and what I'd clone out.
@sarahlth Yeh - it's ugly isn't it! But it is so noisy that when I tried to do more cropping it became really fuzzy. I hoped that the partial transparency on the other one may help. Oh well.... :)
@taffy Thanks for your input Taffy. I think I was just interested in the curves and the different light levels - so if the ISO had been correct this would have probably been the end result. The b&w and the semi transparency were both trying to minimize the fuzz. Live and learn!! Cheers Rob
