Definitely in Copenhagen..

She's very nicely sculpted and in a lovely position, but I find it quite strange that there is so much hype surrounding the Little Mermaid. There are so many other wonderful bronze statues in Copenhagen which also have great stories, but none of them seem to have caught the attention of the tourists to the same extent as this little fairytale mermaid. The crowd around her was quite amazing.

I believe she is the most popular thanks to Hans Christian Anderson who immortalized her in one of his stories. He was from Copenhagen as well. Nice shot.

Hi Jackie, Dione, Ann, Marnie and Ko - It's funny that you have all heard much the same story about the Little Mermaid - very cute but a bit oversold.... It was an interesting walk to get to her though - there is a very old fort that you can walk around on your way to the Mermaid - all moats and ramparts and bastions - great fun!
