This is a rather poor result for the 52 week challenge with the theme:
"Technical - Focus Stacking" My camera will not do this and unfortunately my editing program won't do it automatically either. So this is a pretty amateur attempt at taking 5 shots of the same two flowers and then overlaying them manually to attempt to create a better focus at each of several depths. I would be very interested to see if you can actually tell any difference between the two images - one is the SooC original of the two flowers the other is the amalgamated version of 5 slightly different focal points. Cheers Rob
I'm not sure which is which either- thinking that the lower one is the stacked shot as everything in that one appears in focus to me but you lost some of the color in the process. Focus stacking is one of those things that I think you either like or you don't like. Personally I prefer a shot where you can see the dof. But some prefer the crispness of the whole picture in focus. It really comes down to Jackie's question- which do you prefer? That's what counts.
Thanks everybody for your suggestions and comments. The top one was the one with the focus stacking - it was supposed to make the back flower and the red section of the front flower both be more in focus. I did think it made them a little better - but it seems a lot of bother. Maybe a different subject would be better - something where they're not actually joined and are slightly further apart. Anyway - that's that week done for the 52 week challenge!! Thanks again. Cheers Rob @suzanne234@30pics4jackiesdiamond@rosie00@olivetreeann@casablanca
