The Gold Coast has hundreds of man made canals - life on the water appeals to many. Most of the new canal blocks have been built above "theoretical" flood levels but many of the old ones were just produced by pumping up the sand from the area where the canal was being formed. Huge areas of the Gold Coast are shown on the Council Flood Zone Overlays as Blue - blue for possible water inundation. Their million or multi-million dollar, prices seem to ignore the problem.....
@shutterbug49 Hi Shutterbug - yes - it is a b&w negative, but with the tones changed slightly. It was actually supposed to be turning into an abstract but it never made it that far. Oh well - it was fun anyway. Thanks for your comment. Cheers Rob
Hi Annie @annied This is the last one - but the stupid horizontal leading lines didn't quite match up to the water line of the block! Just straightening them was a bit boring so I played around instead. Thanks again for a good challenge! Cheers Rob
@taffy Thanks for your feedback on this one Taffy - I especially appreciate the comment on the toning as that was the main idea I was playing with!! Many thanks Rob :)
@jgpittenger Hi Jane - thanks for your remark on this - it was colour, then b&w, then a negative and then (the main bit I wanted to play with) changes to the tones of the b&w in the 3 different layers. I wanted it to have a bit of a weird feeling - rose coloured glasses at the front - storm clouds at the back, so your "wild" comment was spot on!! Cheers Rob
@granagringa Hi Granagringa - it's always lovely to get your comments - and much appreciated too. This was colour, then b&w, then a negative and then (the main bit I wanted to play with) changes to the tones of the b&w in the 3 different layers. The negative effect seems to give so many different results - depending on what you've already done to the image. I love playing with it! :)
