He was very watchful - but he knew I wasn't food. When I accidentally touched his web he retreated into his home, rather than rushing out to bind me up.
Hi everyone - thanks so much for your comments on him - I must admit I was pretty pretty taken with the way he had hold of several strands on his web - just like a fisherman holding his line - but he somehow knew I wasn't a fish!!
