Thirty Years in the Waiting...

We've been terrestrial orchid enthusiasts for 30 years. We've seen some gorgeous little things - but the "Flying Duck Orchid" had always eluded us.
Then the Stanthorpe Rare Wildflower Consortium offered a guided walk through one section of Girraween N.P. - and the first flower they showed us was a Flying Duck Orchid!!! (Too many exclamation marks - but it was terribly exciting. :) )
Excited for you Rob. What a well named orchid and do beautifully preserved here for you

How exciting. There are several varieties of duck orchids in WA but I've never seen one.

That is a beauty. It must be wonderful to see orchids in the “wild”….not in a houseplant pot.
