Gate, what gate? by robz

Gate, what gate?

Luckily, our front gate doesn't keep these little cuties out.. Red-necked wallabies - taken with the in-camera watercolour mode.
such lovely things.

They are probably wondering what you are doing on their land.

How nice to have these creatures as visitors! I have seen them at a wildlife park on the Isle of Man during holidays there. Some escaped quite a few years ago, and there is now a wild community as well!

I can't even imagine having these in my yard. Too cute! I assumed they were Kangaroos so it's so nice that I can learn something new her daily!! :)

@bluemoon Hi Paula - thanks for your interest. There are no real diiferences between roos and wallabies. The bigger, outback ones are the Red (male) and Grey (female) roos while the smaller ones are called wallabies and they can be found in a lot of different habitats. There are quite a few different types of wallabies, but they are all really cute! Cheers Rob

@fishers Hi Ian. That was interesting to hear. I don't know much about the Isle of Man but I was wondering if they had become a problem after escaping. They can multiple pretty quickly....

@wakelys LOL - they sometimes look at us as if that's exactly what they're thinking.

Great capture. Not sure what that gate is supposed to keep in or out. :-)

@rickster549 LOL - mainly strangers. Our house is quite a way from the front road and in a bit of a remote area. We prefer to not have unknown people just drive in for a look around, so we keep it shut. It's a bit of a security thing.. :)
