Queensland is a tropical/ semi tropical state. The only place it ever snows is on The Granite Belt. We've lived here for 11 years - it's snowed once. But that doesn't stop the locals from predicting snow each year! Tourists from Brisbane love the thought of snow.....
@ankers70 Lol Suzanne - that's just fabulous. Such a classic, and timeless in what it says. And so spot on - especially out here where it's grapes and apples and strawberries....... and frost and dry and damp and mould and fire...... Thanks for the link - I loved it. Cheers Rob
@kvphoto Hi KV Thanks so much for your kind comment and fav. I thought I better not take too much credit for how this turned out as I used the IR camera and it does this sort of shot pretty well, if in ways that I can't predict! :)
It is funny that the shrubs aren't the normal white but the bright light from the setting sun did different things to the output.
Thanks again. Cheers Rob
@carole_sandford Hi Carole. That sunburnt image is a bit of a furphy. :) We have a few high, cold places that get snow each year - there are actually several ski fields that are popular. Probably mainly Aussies who go there though! :)
Beautiful image of a gate and farm lane. I'm ready to walk there with you even with dusk about ready to fall. fav! (snow, rain, wind, heat, cold, whatever the weather does, we always find a way to complain about it!)
What a moody scene that evokes a "sense of place" so well. Let me just say that those of us in Chicago do NOT fancy the idea of snow. But we get it anyway.
Do you know the poem 'Said Hanrahan' by John O'Brien which, for me, expresses how locals are always making dire predictions about coming weather. http://www.middlemiss.org/lit/authors/obrienj/poetry/hanrahan.html

Lots of snow in Canada!
