Always a surprise.. by robz

Always a surprise..

Same dam, same IR camera, same settings but about 4m difference in the pov. The uneven, jarring result on the bottom was due to rays from the setting sun.
Fascinating how moving pov slightly or a slight difference in light makes so much difference overall.

@jyokota Thanks Junko. The IR camera is always a bit of a wild card - but that's why it's so much fun to play with. Heavy to carry around though!

@billdavidson Thanks for your nice comment - after I read it I went back and had a look at the top one. I think the curve of the tree in the foreground adds interest in the way in which the curve follows through in the reflection. I'd love to be able to say I planned it like that! Cheers Rob :)

Thanks for your great comments about the differences seen with the two different povs. When I took these I had no idea there would be such a difference. I just see the scene through the eyepiece - just looking as it would normally look. It's only afterwards that you can see the difference the lighting has on the outcome. Makes it forever interesting to use this camera. Thanks again for your interest. Cheers Rob

@robz Planning is not always necessary. Sometimes a composition can be instinctive. You produce many fine images.

@fbailey That camera has given me sooo much joy. It's heavy to carry around, but lots and lots of fun. Are you able to use yours or is it still having problems? :)

@robz Oh I am so pleased! Mine still works (I think!) but I haven't used it for such a long time - really must dig it out from the cupboard!
