Something about the recent news sent me down to the Cathedral Basilica after work today. I have shot portions of the ceiling before, but wanted to do better with bigger parts of this magnificent cathedral. As always, I appreciate your taking time to visit.

Wow. Gorgeous! What a wonderful capture - from floor to ceiling. The interior art/design reminds me of the Chora Church in Istanbul. Next time I'm in St. Louis, I will have to visit the Basilica.
Hi Rosie In faved this yesterday, but was wondering how you are liking the E-M1; also was this taken with the Olympus 9 to 18mm lens? Thinking about getting the 12-40, but like the wider angle.
@tosee Hi, Tom. Glad you like the photo - I appreciate the fav. This shot was taken with the 9-18 mm lens. Just so you know, I am a real novice in the photography world and am completely self-taught. My entire project, until this month, has been taken with my super-cute Canon point & shoot, or my iPhone. This month, my totally fab husband surprised me with this camera and some lenses, which the guy in the camera store picked out. I had very thoroughly researched the camera body, though, and mentioned this model to my husband as a "put on the wish list."
I love this camera. It is like driving a Ferrari and I do not feel worthy of it, but am looking to improve a lot. It has a ton of functionality and features, too many to discuss here. The camera store guy recommended this 9-18 mm lens and I have been completely delighted with it, partially for the wide angle. It grabs a lot, as you can see. The other lens which came recommended is the 60 mm 1:2.8 macro lens, which is also amazing. I hope this answers some of your questions.
@tosee Oh, more thoughts... this is a mirrorless camera, so it is smaller and lighter than most DSLRs. I like this feature and sought it out. My husband, much bigger than me, thought the camera was too small for his hands. Just a thought...
