Years together - our anniversary today. What a blessing, to dance this waltz of life with my husband. No matter how many days we are given as family, they are never enough.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, as time permits. Enjoy this season of gratitude. :)

Rosie, I wanted to answer your question about reflections in my shots. This seems like a great place to respond since you've played with reflections in this wonderful celebratory tribute.

I use 12"x12" squares of acrylic. I have one white and one black. The (ding-a-ling) bell photo you commented on and posed the question was shot on black and the day before I used the white. I prefer low-key lighting and, so, both are lit with little battery-operated LED lights diffused by my "studio" kit. I purchased the squares and light-tent kit (from Cowboy...really cool bc it folds all up in a neat carrying case so it doesn't take up much space when I'm not using it!) shortly after I started my project and they've been invaluable when time is tight and motivation is low. I can put just about anything together and make it look "good" fairly quickly. Total cost for kit and squares, if I remember correctly, was about $50.

I also, sporadically, use an 8x8 mirror easily found in a dollar store. If you look at my work, armed with this knowledge, you will be able to easily discern which are shot on acrylics and which are on the mirror! While I'm giving away secrets, I also shoot a lot on black velvet. I bought a little girl's dress at a thrift for $2, separated the bodice from the skirt, and have a wonderful rich looking background for many of my shots.

Maybe this is too much information but I would rather give you too much than not enough! :) Enjoy your weekend and feel free to delete this from your lovely anniversary shot, should you choose!

@voiceprintz Thanks for the information... I would not dream of deleting it. Very helpful! Now that I look at your two shots you reference, I can see the black and white squares you are referring to. This shot was taken on my dresser, which has a glass top, but I think that your squares would work much better. This is how we learn, so thank you very much! :)
