Since simplicity in composition is what we are supposed to consider this week, for the "Flash of Red" February black & white challenge, I thought it was time to shoot St. Louis' own Gateway Arch, symbol of the beginning of the west.
Thanks for all your kind comments on "Portico," my shot from yesterday. Very gracious of you all. :)

Being from the St. Louis area but living in PA for many years now, I love seeing this shot of the Arch. I always take a few shots out the car window on our way thru when we go home to visit. :) And love going to visit the Arch when we get the chance. Great B&W shot!
@monty147 The connections folks have here are so fun... I grew up in PA, but live here now. Apparently, you are in the reverse position, snapping the arch from the car window, driving over the Mississippi River, on Highway 40. Just amazing.
@homeschoolmom I am very much in St. Louis. :) Glad you like this memory of home. There are more than a couple of shots from the Gateway City in my project, for heaven's sake.
