Covered Bridge by rosiekerr

Covered Bridge

The oldest continually functioning covered bridge in New York, located in upstate New York, spotted as we were driving (like crazy) to and from Missouri, picking up our eldest from college. Built in 1853. I saw a car drive through, as I was trying to take this picture. Honestly, this shot was rushed, because I had two guys drumming their fingers on the dashboard. ;)

Thanks for stopping by. :)
Great capture, strong composition and beautiful scene.

Great shot of the bridge! Doesn't look Ike there's much traffic on the road.

Lovely shot - I like the leading line of the fence on the right. Fav.

Beautiful composition of this lovely old bridge. I know the feeling of pressure when you convince everyone to stop for a photo! But it worked!

Great rushed composition! I'm sure every photographer will know what you are talking about!

This is truly charming with the wood construction, filtered light, setting, and curved railing.

I just checked the location of this bridge...you were close to where I grew up! My great grand aunt used to wander through the area taking pics of covered bridges long long ago. This one is fabulous! So glad you were able to stop and capture the moment. I have a young man who often asks if I'm SERIOUSLY going to stop and take another picture! I so "get it"!!

@voiceprintz That is so cool! What a lovely place... So rich in photo opportunities. Maybe next academic year, we can linger longer. Last fall, we hiked Buttermilk Falls and the Ithaca Gorges. Next year... Ruined barns! :)

Love it. I understand the impatience part. :-( Don't they understand?!

Super shot. Your comments about being rushed made me smile, my husband is the same way, but my son is a little bit more patient.

There aren't too many of these so it's always fun to spot one, isn't it. Love the curved fence inviting us in. Hope all went well with the "pick-up."

What a fascinating bridge. Great capture and the road leads me through it. FAV

You were on the right road obviously to see this - it wouldn't be a tourist destination but an absolute bonus for a photographer! Congrats on the PP!

You captured this historic bridge perfectly. Love those leading curves of the guard fence and the interior lines of the bridge.
