Cultural Ballet

The Missouri Botanical Garden is holding its "Lantern Festival." Lantern Festivals are rarely seen, outside Asia, and MoBot (who works closely with China on botanical and environmental research) is staging one now. Too many shots to process for this evening, but here are some Chinese performers, doing a "shoulder ballet."

This young lady stood on her partner's head, en pointe, later in the dance. Seriously. I have a shot, but the lighting was too challenging for me. Still... a "you were there" moment. OK... I regained courage. Check it out in my "extras" album (which I hardly have time to post in, right now).
